Presentation Open City on Urban Age South America Conference
On 3 December, Urban Age inaugurates an intensive two-day conference on the future of global cities in São Paulo, the largest city in one of the world’s most urbanised regions. 100 innovators of urban change from 14 countries – half a dozen mayors, renowned scholars and authors side-by-side with architects leading major urban regeneration projects around the globe – offer presentations about urban transformations in 25 cities. Exploring the vast and complex challenge of contemporary city making, the conference offers a platform to investigate the interconnected issues of security, mobility, climate change, governance and urban design.
Among the invited guests are Henk Ovink, of the Dutch Ministry of VROM, IABR-director George Brugmans, and curator Kees Christiaanse. Christiaanse presents the theme and topics of the 4th IABR, Open City: Designing Coexistence.
A detailed list of speakers and presentation topics is available on the Urban Age website.
