Open Podium
Every Friday afternoon, a local 'cultural ambassador' appears as host or hostess of a performance, presentation or discussion. This week's theme is Segregation.
Sound(s) of the City Rotterdam
This afternoon will start at 3pm. Future Vintage, a radio show on the internet about the past, present, and future of jazz, soul, hip hop, and electronical music, will record one of their radio programs at the 4th IABR. DJs Radna and MC Melodee will present the sound of cities like Los Angeles, Detroit, and Sao Paulo.
At 5pm, the Open Podium will start with Sengalese snacks and a short performance by Rotterdam’s ABC Brassband, which plays a smashing style of carribean music, called Asembeho. Afterwards, three dominant music styles will be compared and discussed: Urban / HipHop, Punk / Rock and Techno / Electronic / Dance. The discussion will be moderated by Andrew Makkiga.
