Graphic designers exhibition and publications awarded
Amsterdam Prize for Mevis & van Deursen
The design duo Mevis & van Deursen have been awarded the 2009 Amsterdam Art Prize. The jury of the Amsterdam Prize for the Arts found that the winners distinguished themselves through world class and an open mind.
Armand Mevis and Linda van Deursen are the graphic designers for the 4th International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam. As such. they are responsible for the graphic design of the exhibition Open City: Designing Coexistence in the NAI, the book Open City: Designing Coexistence (SUN Publishers), and the catalog of the 4th IABR.
Both publications will appear on September 24 and will be for sale at the Biennale.
The Amsterdam Prize is awarded annually to three artists or art institutions who contribute to the arts in Amsterdam in a special and contemporary way. It is the most prestigious art prize awarded by the city, and is granted by the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts.
