Every Friday afternoon, a local ‘cultural ambassador’ appears at the IABR as host or hostess of a performance, presentation or discussion relating to the theme of the week, which this week is Designing Coexistence.
Special guest is: Sara Vrugt
On Saturday, June 13th 2009, The Hague wasn't its usual self! Sara Vrugt, 27-year-old fashion designer, set in motion a great “community-fashion” spectacle, "Een Rode Draad"!
On that day, three hundred “Hagenaars”, all dressed in red, paraded over a three kilometre long catwalk that was painted red from beginning to end. Moreover, musicians accompanied the parade along the route.
In this way Sara hoped to inspire and bind the wide variety of people and cultures that live and exist in The Hague. In so doing, she wanted to form a bridge and bring people together.
